Andrew Taylor is recognized for advancing veterinary emergency and critical care through clinical innovation, education, and leadership
POWELL, OH, August 5, 2026, Drew Q. Taylor has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. Dr. Taylor is board-certified in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) by the American College of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care. Dr. Taylor currently serves as Critical Care Specialty Team Leader at MedVet and as Critical Care Department Representative and ECC Residency Director at MedVet Columbus.
As Critical Care Specialty Team Leader and Emergency and Critical Care Residency Director at MedVet Columbus, Dr. Taylor has advanced clinical excellence, doctor development, and specialty collaboration across the organization. His contributions include co-establishing MedVet’s first Emergency and Critical Care residency program, developing educational resources utilized by doctors and caregivers throughout the organization, and creating systems that enhance continuity of care and patient transitions across hospital services.
Clinically, Dr. Taylor has advanced MedVet’s critical care capabilities through the implementation and growth of advanced therapies, including mechanical ventilation, high-flow nasal oxygen therapy, therapeutic plasma exchange, hemoperfusion, and mononuclear cell collection. He was also an integral member of the team that established MedVet’s blood bank. Through these efforts, he has contributed to improved patient care, advanced specialty training, and continued clinical innovation across the organization.
Before joining MedVet, Dr. Taylor completed a residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2018 to 2021. During this period, he honed his expertise in managing complex cases and developed advanced clinical skills that would later inform his leadership at MedVet. Before his residency, he served as a rotating intern at Tufts University in North Grafton, Massachusetts, from 2017 to 2018, where he gained broad exposure to various veterinary disciplines.
From 2015 to 2017, Dr. Taylor worked as an associate and emergency veterinarian at Animal Clinic Northview, Inc., in North Ridgeville, Ohio. In this role, he provided urgent medical care and contributed to the clinic’s reputation for high-quality veterinary services. Earlier in his career, Dr. Taylor was employed as a veterinary assistant at Upper Arlington Veterinary Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, from 2012 to 2014, where he supported daily operations and developed foundational clinical skills.
His educational background reflects a non-traditional path toward veterinary medicine. Dr. Taylor earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2015 after completing post-baccalaureate pre-medical coursework that prepared him for rigorous medical training. He previously obtained a Master of Science in Sport Management from the Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst in 2009 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Williams College, awarded in 2007.
In addition to his veterinary pursuits, Dr. Taylor served as head coach for The Ohio State University Women’s Club Ice Hockey team from 2012 to 2014. This experience allowed him to cultivate leadership abilities and foster teamwork, qualities that have proven invaluable throughout his professional journey.
Dr. Taylor attributes his success to perseverance, mentorship, and a dedication to continuous improvement in patient care and professional development.
Outside of his professional commitments, Dr. Taylor enjoys woodworking as a personal pursuit. He is married to his husband and together they have two children aged two and four.
Looking ahead, Dr. Taylor aims to advance MedVet’s extracorporeal therapy capabilities, further develop the organization’s ECC residency program, and strengthen collaboration among Critical Care specialists across the MedVet network.
